A 1.25" thick high-quality reclaimed elm; real wood pieces glued onto engineered wood backing for additional strength and support, not a manufactured vinyl / laminate surface. Suitable as a table top (kitchen tables, dining tables, coffee tables), a desk surface, or fine woodwork. This tabletop is really top tier. It's nice, thick and heavy. There are imperfections on the surface, but it doesn't interfere with mouse movement. I wouldn't recommend trying to write with a single sheet of paper on this surface. I personally think the imperfections look nice and the surface is nice to the touch; you may think that the imperfection may feel irritating on the skin but it's not irritating at all.
I'm using the Flexispot E7 Plus frame (4 legs) with this tabletop and it's such a nice combo. It's an ultra sturdy desk at any height.
